If you read the newsletter on Sunday, you already know this but I have a new novella coming in June! You might have seen me talking about this over the course of the month while I’ve been co-hosting QWriters with my friend Amara Lynn! If you haven’t, here’s the run down!
I was originally inspired by this viral story thread on Twitter!
omg… the cutest thing just happened at work it's like a fic. i'm gonna do a thread, spoiler it's a love story— don 🏳️🌈 missing bts (@jeonsibs) April 19, 2019
I wanted to write a short story with this because it was so sweet and heartwrenching, but it turned out that the story wanted to be a novella! And thus, Second Wind was born!
I can’t reveal the cover yet because I’m saving it, but I’d love to show you the aesthetic I made for it!
No matter how old you are, there’s always a chance for romance.(Goodreads)
After the death of her husband, 71-year-old homemaker Martha Appleby is taking her first long-distance trip alone. That loss has derailed many of her plans for her twilight years, and she hopes to come to peace with not knowing what will come next.
70-year-old service dog trainer Pamela Thornton is hoping to take advantage of a well-timed work trip to figure out what to do next. Crouton is the last service dog of the litter, and she’s not sure she wants to keep raising dogs by herself.
These two childhood sweethearts haven’t seen each other in fifty years when they each board the same airplane, only to find they’ve been booked for the same seat.
If they can get past the ghosts of their past and decide what path they want to chart for their futures, this chance meeting could give their long lost relationship its second wind.
You can preorder it now through Amazon for $3.99 and add it to Goodreads to keep up with it!
